Earlier today, I was playing my MegaMan Starforce 2 game and I decided to want to change some things around in my playing style. Before I get started, I should elaborate on the game, so you all will at least know what I am talking about. The foundation of the game is strength throught friendship, and Capcom REALLY emphasizes that by creating something called "Link Power". Link Power allows you to equip MegaMan with all sorts of abilities. Your Link Power is affected by how far you are in the game as well as how many real life buddies you have (I have none so far. XD) In this game you fight viruses as Geo Stelar and Omega-Xis fused together as MegaMan. The style of combat is loosely based off of a mixture of both Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! aspects. You get to collect "Battle Cards" from the Electro Magnetic Viruses (EM Viruses) and use them to fight.
Well, I had given myself a humungously cheap upgrade that allowed to me have 6 Giga-Class Battle Cards in my 30 card folder. Giga-Class cards are sort of like Limit Break/Bankai style attacks. They are always really powerful and my folder was filled with them and a bunch of summon cards (Most of them were either Gemini Spark, or Empty). With this change I had used the brute strength of my powerful cards, while the others were all supportive in some way. It worked for a while, butI just couldn't use it right anymore. So, that's when I changed my attack style...
I had changed to my "MegaMan Rogue" form. I get tremendous power with this form, but at the expense of alot of useful stuff that I like to do. Unlike the other forms in this game, this gets power through lonliness. It's a sad thought, but your in-game Rival, Solo (AKA Rogue when he EM Wave changes, and his Japanese name in this form is Burai) uses this power to get stronger. Solo doesn't trust anyone, doesn't like the idea of making any friends, he hates Link Power, etc. It's unfortunate, because he also got beat up alot by groups of people just because they didn't like him. :/ So then Solo uses the power of the "Indie Proof" to keep everybody from getting close to his heart. During a battle this shows up as a stiff barrier called "Mu Rejection". It protects him from anything and everything and it generates randomly.
Having said all of that, using MegaMan Rogue allows MegaMan to become very powerful at the expense of some very valuable tactics. You can get this form 1 of 2 ways: 1. Equip all of the games "Indie Fragments" in your friend roster and you will become MegaMan Rogue when you see the Murian symbol appear during a battle. 2. Use a Wave Command Card to automatically become MegaMan Rogue without having to remove any of your buddies. Now onto the powers you get. 1st of all, your Mega Buster stats get maxed out, allowing you to fire it like a gattling gun. You get to have 2 more Mega-Class cards in your folder, HOWEVER it is seemingly useless as using MegaMan Rogue actually disables the use of those cards. You get to carry 1 more Giga-Class card. A minor setback is that you automatically get equipped with the Float Shoes, Undershirt, Fand Firstbarrier. That all sounds very nice, but you actually can't replace any of the abilities there. Meaning that you can't use First Aura and stuff like that, so I just buffed up my HP and put on a Reflect Shield. Now, for the juicy abilities. MegaMan Rogue takes the appearance of a purple version of the game's Tribe, however you have no element, and that means that you can't knocked out of this form unless you are stupid and used a Wave Command Card to turn one of the LFB's into a battle card. -_- Because no one can get close to your heart, your enemy can't lock-on to attack with close range cards, and that's a nice bonus since most close range battle cards are strong and annoying. The next one I noticed just today, but it's also very nice. Based on what I saw yo ucan guard even when you're standing on panels that disable it. A very nice handy ability is that ALL sword battle cards get a whopping +50 attack power. I use alot of sword battle cards, so that's always a welcome bonus. This ability is by far probably my favorite of them all. At the beginning of every turn you are protected with the Mu Rejection Barrier. This regenerates everytime, and I must say that it ruins peoples strategies. They choose to attack me right away, and most of the time, Mu Rejection blocks the attack for me. XD However, smart people will just shoot the barrier down, so they can strike me without a problem... >_>;; I found that I put up a much better fight, despite being a little handicapped. I wanted to test my newfound power against the remixed final boss Le Mu Xa and it took me a few tries to beat him. I think I might use this form for a while, but I'm gonna miss using my Empty summon cards. :( *evil smirk* But there is always the Empty Magic Giga card!
I hope you enjoyed this. Comment if you wish. Thank you and Sayonara!
